Jason Clarke,
an assistant art director on the film,
created all
the artwork for these shields.
Prototype armour costume for 'Wulfric' (Wiglif?) character. Made
of polished aluminum 22ga. plates, this costume has about 1400 machine-cut, and
hand-set plates onto nice leather and took about 30 shop hours to assemble the
plates onto the leather. The actual
costume seen in the movie was brass and aged.
Prototype armour costume for 'Rothgar' character (John Hurt). This
is also 22 gauge polished aluminum plates. This costume has about 400 hand-cut,
and hand-set plates onto leather and took about 50 shop hours to make
everything from scratch.
Rothgar hero brass scale armour: This is the actual screen-worn armour worn by John Hurt , playing
'Rothgar' in 'Outlander'. It also features a complete mantle for around the
neck. This costume has about 400 hand-cut, and hand-set plates onto leather and
took at least 60 shop hours to make from scratch, plus aging.
Custom made screen-worn, lamellar armour costume, aged. Complete with
chest and back, belt with strips, bracers, and leather boots with black fur.
